The day before Thanksgiving the farmer caught Tom the turkey and put him in his pen and gave him some grain.The turkey remarked,“yummy” and ate all the food. Tom overheard the farmer talking to his wife about Thanksgiving dinner.” When do you need the turkey for Thanksgiving?” he asked. Tom the turkey thought that he's getting invited for Thanksgiving dinner. The farmer stated, “I can't wait to taste that turkey.” Just then the turkey realized that he was supposed to be “dinner”. Tom then jumped the fence and sprinted.The farmer and his wife ran after the turkey, and sped through the bushes and up the hill. He hustled down another hill and to the pond. The turkey realized it was a dead end and started flapping his wings. He flew over the pond. “They can't catch me now, I'm free,” he said. By Nathan
